End of May-Early August
Wow it's been a long time since we have blogged! We have been super busy! First, we made a huge move this month and are now living in our new house. We are still getting settled and have started little projects such as growing a garden, putting in a home theatre system, and decorating. Kyle continues to grow everyday and everyday I catch myself saying, "don't forget that moment!" He grows so fast. In the beginning Ky declined solid foods but now he is a great eater. I wonder when to stop feeding him because he just goes and goes! He also loves to explore his voice. He has his D's, G's, and M's down....not to mention his happy screams. Kyle also has mastered rolling over and sitting up. He is staying on his tummy a little longer; almost ready to crawl. He is lunging forward to get toys out of reach... poor baby, he does nose dives. We really watch him. He is ready to take off! Kyle also prefers to stand and walk with help. Kyle loves to cuddle, give kisses, and hugs. He's super social; leave him alone and he WILL call for you. Kyle loves to be in the Exercauser we borrowed from his Auntie Nicole and Uncle Mike. When we go to the grocery store or for walks he prefers to be in his Baby Bjorn carrier...one of the best inventions (the Moby is even better). He kicks and laughs and gets the attention of other shoppers and walkers. We also got him a walker which he is still learning how to make it move. The more he is in it, the better he gets and has almost got down moving backwards. Kyle also loves his rattles and drum set. He still is toothless. We thought he was going to get one because a little white dot emerged on his lower left gum. Come to find out, it was just a cyst that is no longer there. Kyle loves being out and about and is definitely not a homebody. He still hates Monday cleaning days! Luckily, our housecleaning ladies relieve some of the work.
Kyle has had a good summer visiting Gramma and Papa (we just can't get enough!), hangin' out with Uncle Brian, Auntie Jen, Abby, and Tori, and going on many outings. To kick off the summer we went to Texas for Danny and Dayna's wedding (Ky's second cousin). Kyle did amazing on the flight and we are ready for another trip:) he loved looking at everyone and looking out the window. It also helped having his cousins aboard to keep him entertained. Thanks Aunt Janet, Uncle Gary, and Nick for welcoming us into your beautiful home. We have also gone to the aquarium with Adelyn, Auntie Cole, and Gramma. Kyle loves fish! I think his favorite exhibit are the sea lions behind a huge glass. Kyle also went to his first concert with Greg and Carrie, which was the Blues Fest in Doheny Beach. He loved the music and people watching. Kyle loved going to the fair with Gramma, Papa, Uncle Mike, Auntie Nicole, Auntie Cole, and Adelyn. The food was great and we watched Adelyn go on a few fun rides. I even got to join her on one of the crazy fair rides! Give it a couple years and Kyle will join Adelyn. Kyle loved the animals. Just this past weekend, we went on our second trip to the aquarium with Uncle Brian, Abby, and Tori. We all loved it and learned so much about Halibut, Sting Rays, and other fishies. Saturday, Kyle had his first beach experience at dog beach with Dad and Zoe. He really liked it. We let him touch the sand, but he wanted to eat it. So, we let him put his feet in the water and watch the waves crash. We weren't there for very long because it was super crowded. This week we are getting ready for Kyle's first camping trip to Yosemite. It will be interesting to see how an 8 month old does camping! At least he isn't crawling yet! If he's my son, he'll love being outdoors breathing in the fresh air!
